Sustainable and fair trade production
Lanka Kade started up in 1994 when business partners Upul and Diane finished working together for the Red Cross in Sri Lanka and wanted to keep their connection strong. They came up with the idea of maintaining their links with the communities they got to know in Sri Lanka. They set up a small business importing high quality design and craft products, as well as toys, from Sri Lanka to the UK - and all under a fair trade model. Lanka Kade is not only all about sustainable production but also about helping communities in Sri Lanka develop their own businesses with financial support and training.
